We're Here To Help!
Our expert and friendly customer service staff welcome any questions you may have regarding our range of bushfire mitigation products. Please give us a call on 1300 277 144 or email info@abmp.com.au to discuss your project's particular requirements. We've also put together a convenient list (below) of Frequently Asked Questions (along with our answers, of course).
For our range of Bluescope Aquaplate Steel Water Tanks, the following recommendations apply.
1. Concrete Slab. The slab should be 100mm in thickness and exceed the diameter (for Round tanks) or the width and length (for Slimline tanks) by at least 50mm on all sides.
2. For Round models with a diameter of 1900mm or above, a bed of compacted crusher dust is an option for you. The bed should be 100mm in thickness and exceed the diameter on all sides. Care should be taken to ensure that the crusher dust doesn't erode over time. Often that's accomplished by having the crusher dust inside of a timber frame.
There are two key factors to consider when selecting a tank that best suits your particular requirements.
1. If it's a Water Tank dedicated for bushfire fighting purposes, and part of a new build or renovation, your Council will usually have a capacity requirement. For example, 10,000 Litres or 20,000 Litres with a firefighting connection on the tank to be accessed by the relevant fire brigade. It's recommended that you contact Council to ascertain the capacity requirement.
2. Available Space. As well as any consideration for the capacity of your tank or tanks, it's important to factor in the proposed location of the tank(s), specifically the available groundspace and any height restrictions (e.g., if the tank is being fed from a roof gutter system with a particular height).
Of course, the expert team here at ABMP are here to help with any questions you may have regarding your particular requirements. Please don’t hesitate to call them on 1300 277 144 or email them at info@abmp.com.au.
