Capacity Of Tank Required

For lot sizes up to 500 square metres, a tank of 2,500 Litres of effective volume is required.

For lot sizes between 500 square metres and 1,000 square metres, a tank with an effective capacity of 5,000 Litres is required.

For properties with an area of greater than 1,000 square metres, the effective capacity needs to be 10,000 Litres.

Specialised Fitting

A CFA Approved Water Tank is required to have a specialised 65mm Outlet on it, which is a device that the CFA can connect their pumping equipment to in the event that the tank's water needs to be accessed for firefighting purposes.

Location

The above mentioned specialised Outlet is to be located within 4 metres of an accessway and be unobstructed at all times.
